Video Tips: Delegating Successfully

video tips how to delegate delegating successfully video

Do you feel like the only one who can complete your work?

Do you think delegating is just more trouble than it’s worth?

If you answered yes to these, you are wrong. Delegating is vital to growing your business and you can overcome your fear. In this week’s video I am giving 8 tips and strategies for delegating work more successfully.

They will not be new to long term readers of this blog as I have covered them before in written form but now they are available in video… which is like writing, but for millennials. Enjoy!

And as always please feel free to comment below with your tips or ideas. What am I right or wrong about and how do you delegate successfully?

And… below are the points upon which I elaborate in the above video:

1. LEARN TO LET GO

Feel your way in by letting go of small tasks to begin with.

2. BREAK DOWN YOUR WORK

Create flows, list every step in a process or ongoing project.

3. ESTABLISHING PRIORITIES

Be clear about what needs to be done now and what can wait.

4. ALWAYS PREPARE CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS

Describe your requirements in great detail as if explaining to someone who knows nothing of what you do.

5. DON'T BE SCARED OF TRAINING

Don’t keep all the good knowledge for yourself. Train others and help them love and grow your business.

6. PLAY TO THEIR STRENGTHS

The person to whom you delegate can also contribute with strengths that you may not have.

7. TRUST AND CHECK, TRUST AND CHECK.

Trust them to do a good job and check that they do. Establish this as a rule to avoid micro-managing.

8. PROVIDE FEEDBACK

Give input on what is good and what needs to be improved and explain why.
